Winter shoes for the places children go

School, walks and sledging may call for different shoes. Choose according to the weather, time spent outdoors and how well the shoes fit. This selection includes winter models from FARE BARE, FARE KLASIK and FARE MID-WIDE. MID-WIDE combines elements of classic and barefoot construction.

Shoes with a membrane are suitable for wet and melting snow. For longer play in the snow, choose taller boots or snow boots and pull trouser legs over their tops.

Guide to choosing winter barefoot shoes (in Czech) →
01

For nursery and school

Comfortable, insulated shoes with practical fastenings that children can manage themselves. Easy access depends on the construction and fastening, not just the height of the shoe.

02

For wet snow

A membrane helps limit moisture entering from outside while allowing water vapour to escape. Check the individual model’s features and care for the upper regularly.

03

For frosty days

Look for an insulated lining, a warm insole and enough room for the foot and a winter sock. Taller boots alone do not guarantee greater warmth.

EU sizes 23–35

Try winter shoes on with winter socks

The size number is a starting point. What matters is the shoe’s internal measurements, space in front of the toes and a secure fit when walking.

See how to measure
  1. Measure both feet while standing.Use the longer measurement and compare the width as well.
  2. Compare the measurements of the specific size.Allow the recommended space in front of the toes and account for the socks your child will wear.
  3. Let your child walk in the shoes.Toes must not be squeezed, and the shoes should not slip off when walking. Our shop team can also help you choose.

More than one thing keeps feet warm and dry

Membranes and winter shoe care

A membrane is a functional layer between the upper and lining. It helps limit moisture entering from outside while allowing water vapour produced inside the shoe to escape. It does not replace insulation.

Water-resistant footwear does not necessarily contain a membrane. Water resistance may come from the material or a surface treatment. Always check the exact construction in the product description.

How FARE-TEX works →

Help your shoes last

Clean and care for the upper regularly according to its material and the manufacturer’s instructions. Let footwear dry after use. Pull trouser legs over boots when children play in the snow: a membrane cannot stop snow falling in from above.

Questions parents ask

Which children’s winter shoes are included?

Winter models from FARE’s children’s categories, including snow boots, shoes with a membrane and winter barefoot shoes. This page offers only currently available EU sizes 23–35. It is not a selection of women’s or men’s footwear.

How are new arrivals ordered?

Products carrying the actual New label appear first. Within that group, the date they were added to the shop determines their order, followed by other winter models. The New arrivals filter shows only labelled products. You can also sort by price or order popularity.

Are all winter shoes waterproof?

No. Check the individual model for a membrane or use the With a membrane filter. Water-resistant material or a surface treatment is not the same as a membrane. Regular care of the upper also matters.

When should I choose snow boots or ankle boots?

Insulated ankle boots with practical fastenings suit everyday wear. For longer periods in the snow, choose taller boots or snow boots that better protect against snow entering over the top. Consider a model with a membrane for wet snow.

How do I choose the right size?

Measure both feet while standing and compare their length and width with the internal measurements of the specific size. Allow the recommended space in front of the toes. Try the shoes with the socks your child will wear and let them walk in them.

How are prices and available sizes updated?

Prices, stock, labels and new arrivals are loaded when the page is opened. Sizes outside EU 23–35 are not offered here. Sorting by order popularity uses a shared daily calculation for the last 30 completed calendar days.
